The B2WINS

Against All Odds, They Played Their Way to the Top

In the heart of the most dangerous slums of Rio de Janeiro, twin brothers grew up the sunny slums of Niteroi. Their days filled with soccer, laughter, beaches and wonder. But this fairytale land was juxtaposed against a world of violence, poverty, and despair. Growing up in the favelas, their house lacked running water, there were days they went without food, and somedays felt like a battle for survival amidst the violent drug trade that exists in that reality. Yet, in the midst of this chaos, they found something that would change their lives forever: music.

Their father, a hard working luthier, handcrafted two violins by hand—two instruments that would carry them out of the darkness. These violins became their escape, their hope, and their gateway to a world they could only dream of. With each note they played, they defied the odds, using music not just to survive, but to rise above the circumstances that tried to break them.

From Street Performers to Global Sensations

At just 13, they began performing with their local orchestra, playing classical music. Their raw sound captivating the souls of those who heard them. Word quickly spread, and soon they were playing at the most luxurious events across Brazil for professional soccer players, actors, and politicians. The Twins were no longer just a pair of boys from the slums; they were icons, their music a beacon of hope and resilience. But their story didn’t stop there. The breakthrough came in 2006, when their story was featured on National Public Radio, leading to a life-changing offer: full-ride music scholarships to the United States. From the streets of Rio to the grand stages of the world, their journey had just begun.

A Dream Realized, A Mission to Inspire

Now, having performed thousands of events worldwide, the Violin Twins carry with them the joys of their past, the spirit of their struggle, the dreams, and the mission to spread happiness with their music. Whether they’re performing in intimate formal settings or headlining grand stages, the Twins deliver more than just music—they embody a story of resilience, passion, and the unbreakable bond between brothers.
